Ingredients
340g fresh cranberries
200g sugar
45ml cherry brandy
45ml port
75ml water
Method
Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan over a medium heat until the berries start to pop, stirring every now and again with a wooden spoon. This will take about 10 minutes.
Your boozy cranberry sauce is almost ready. Use the back of the spoon to crush the berries a bit into the liquid and transfer to a bowl to cool.
As the sauce cools the pectin release from the berries will start to thicken the sauce into a more jam like consistency.
If you make this sauce way in advance of the big day, it will need to be stirred up with a fork before serving.
Tip! - The sauce will keep, covered in a fridge, for up to one week. Stir well before serving.
Make ahead and freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw overnight at room temperature. Stir well before serving.
