Ingredients
For the simple syrup
100g golden caster sugar
50ml water
For the cocktail
Ice
100ml vodka
50ml freshly brewed espresso coffee
50ml coffee liqueur
To garnish
4 coffee beans (optional)
Method
Begin by making the simple syrup. Add the caster sugar to a small pan over a medium heat and pour in the water. Bring to the boil, stirring all the while to ensure that the sugar fully dissolves then turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
Place 2 martini glasses in the fridge to chill, a chilled glass is the key to a good martini.
Once the sugar syrup is cold, pour 1 Tbsp. into a cocktail shaker along with a handful of ice, the vodka, espresso and coffee liqueur. Shake well until the outside of the cocktail shaker feels icy cold.
Use a strainer to strain the martini into the chilled glasses. Garnish each one with coffee beans for that extra cocktail bar touch.
