Ingredients

Pastry ingredients

350g Plain white flour

90g Lard

90g Unsalted butter

1tsp Salt

2tbsp Water

Filling ingredients

450g Beef

1tbsp Curry paste

450g Peeled potatoes

250g Swede

1 finely chopped Onion

2tbsp Clotted cream

Salt and pepper to season

Method

Pastry

Place the flour, salt, lard and butter in the bowl and use your hands to mix until the mixture becomes fine and resembles breadcrumbs.

Slowly add the water and stir until the mixture thickens and comes together. Wrap the pastry and chill in the fridge for half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 180°c

Roll the pastry on your Home Made Wooden Pastry Board with Measures and cut out 6 discs measuring 13cm each.

Filling

Place the pasty disc on top of the open 13cm pastry mould.

Mix together the vegetables in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix the curry paste and the meat. Place a small amount of vegetables in the middle of the pastry circles and top with the meat and seasoning generously.

Add clotted cream on top and bring the pastry mould together to seal.

Place on a baking sheet and cook for 40-50 minutes or until the pastry has a deep golden colour.
