Our #GBBO style Coffee Morning

Never ones to shy away from cake; on 26 September we’ll have a fork in one hand a crisp fiver in the other as we get ready to celebrate Macmillan’s Coffee Morning. Every year we’ve supported and helped raise awareness for the amazing charity, Macmillan Cancer Support, but this year we wanted to do something a little different from the usual cake sale…

We’ve got serious Great British Bakeoff fever here at Kitchen Craft so we wanted to bring an element of Mary and Paul in to this year’s cake sale. Some of our lovely members of staff will put their blood, sweat and tears in to producing an amazing bake, for the whole company to judge… Eeek! Scary! We’ll be charging staff five pounds for a sample of every cake and a cup of tea or coffee, then this is where the fun starts – after we’ve sampled and scrutinised we’ll pick our favourite cake, then the winner will be awarded the prestigious title of Kitchen Craft’s Star Baker!

Eating cake and having a gossip is all well and good but why we’re doing it is so important. Macmillan Cancer Support is an amazing charity which provides practical, medical and financial support for families facing the toughest battle of their lives. Since founded in 1911, Macmillan have supported and helped millions of individuals and their families. Last year alone nearly £190 million was raised with over £37 million being raised by fundraising events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning. Every pound we help raise will make sure Macmillan can provide a constant source of support for people facing cancer across the UK, from the moment they’re diagnosed, right through their treatment and beyond. With nearly half of us being diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime it’s so important that we donate what we can to help give individuals and their families all the support they need.
