Stuffed Picnic Loaf

Ingredients

1 large round farmhouse loaf
2 tbs. Mayonnaise
4 slices of smoked Ham
2 slices of turkey breast
Red Leicester
4 boiled eggs, sliced
Lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Sliced avocado
Salt and pepper

Method

Slice the top off the bread and set to one side.

Use your hands to gently remove the soft centre of the bread so that you are left with the crust forming a bowl.

Use the back of a spoon to spread the mayonnaise around the inside of the hollowed out loaf then begin to layer up the ingredients adding a twist of salt and pepper after each layer. You can use the fillings we have suggested or try any variety of cold meats, fish and vegetables.

Once the crust is full spread a little more mayonnaise on to the lid and place back on top.

Wrap the loaf tightly in two layers of clingfilm and place in the fridge with a heavy bowl or chopping board on top. This will help the loaf stay together when you come to serve it. Chill over night.

To serve, remove from the fridge, unwrap and cut into wedges.
