Same thing happening to me. Received as gift last christmas. They are very beautiful, but not meeting basic safety standard. I used the set for about 6 months, then the handle of 1 knife ripped out like those described by others. And several weeks later, the same things happened to other 3 knives. So now 4 out of 5 knives are having handles separated off from the knife bodies. This is really not acceptable. One time the knife body just fell off from the handle when I was washing it. The knife body just slided out and almost cut my hand... think about how scary would that be if the sharp edge slides on my finger.

Hi Ivan,

Please accept our apologies, that certainly doesn't sound like the knives are performing up to our own standards and it is certainly something that we need to address. I've passed your message onto our customer services team and someone will be in touch as soon as possible to assist.

Once again, our sincerest apologies.

Regards,

KC

Today I was cutting vegetables with the smallest of the five knives in the set, when it broke three quarters of the way up the blade. I am now petrified to use the other four knives, incase the same happens with those and causes injuries. I am very disappointed that this has happened, even more so as I have only owned them 4.5 months after being bought them as a birthday present. The knives look great and it is such a shame that there is clearly a serious design/ standard issue. I look forward to your response at your earliest convenience.

I've also had the same issues with this knife set, with blade breaking when cutting carrots. The tip snapping straight off very disappointing as with others I expected a decent lifespan as the 25 year guarantee given suggests not just months.

Having purchased this lovely looking knife set approx 18 months ago to put the finishing touches to my new kitchen, until now I have been pleased with the quality and effectiveness of them but unfortunately last week I was slicing a carrot with the smallest knife when the blade skidded along the length of it and was forced into the board. When I pulled it out the very tip of the knife had broken off. This only added insult to injury as a couple of months previously my husband was using the second smallest knife when cutting through a potato the blade actually snapped! He threw it away without actually telling me until I discovered it missing.! I am so disappointed as I thought this set would last me for years as It was bought for it's reliability (having a 25 year guarantee).

Myself and my partner got married 3 weeks ago and was brought this set of masterclass knifes as a present. We was so happy with this gift as my partner being a chef knew these knives were a really good set to have. To our disappointment last night while preparing our dinner one of the knives snapped straight through the middle of the blade. Surely with these knives being so expensive they should of lasted us longer than 3 weeks. We are both very disapointed and would like to know what can be done about this. Thankyou

Please accept our apologies for this and congratulations on the marriage. Regarding the knife snapping through the centre of the blade, this should definitely not have happened. I've just passed your message onto our customer support team who will look at this immediately. Someone will be in touch as soon as possible to assist.

I purchased this knife set less than 1 year ago and the 5" knife snapped near the base of the handle while using the flat of the blade to crush a garlic clove, cutting myself in the progress! Considering these blades are stainless steel I'm a little annoyed to find out that they are no match for a single clove of garlic! Secondly on some off the blades they had developed rust spots, which I wouldn't have expected to get on a Stainless Steel knife! I'm very disappointed with these knives, they look fantastic but are not up the quality I was expecting.

The same thing has happened to me. I received this knife set as a Christmas gift December 2014. So far, the tang on 2 knives have ripped out and separated from the handle.

I purchased these knives from HomeGoods less than 6 months ago. Roughly 1 month ago, the knife pictured in image #5 was being used to cut a carrot, when the metal end that goes in to the rubber handle ripped completely through the rubber and the knife came out. Not only was it dangerous, but it's super disappointing that these knives didn't last me 6 months. I emailed HomeGoods and they told me that I had to contact the manufacturer. I work in eCommerce, so I understand that things can happen, however something as expensive as knives seems like a short life span. I'm upset that such a sleek looking set of knives is so utterly disappointing

Hi Kelly,

Please accept our apologies for what has happened here. One of the reasons as to why we include a 25 year guarantee on this particular knife set is due to their reliability and the average lifespan of this knife set usually exceeding the 25 years. It may well be a case that the particular set that you received were from a potentially faulty batch but regardless, it isn't acceptable that this happened and we can only apologise. Our customer services team will be in touch with you today to resolve this for you.

Thanks,

Kitchen Craft
