Crab Cakes & Aioli


For the crab cakes:

2 spring onions finely chopped

200g crab meat

50g fresh breadcrumbs 

1 medium egg

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

4tsp lemon juice

¼ tsp chilli flakes

1tsp tarragon

Knob of butter

For the aioli:

3tbsp mayonnaise

Zest of half a lime

Zest of half a lemon



Whisk together the egg, mayonnaise, lemon juice, chilli flakes, tarragon and spring onions.

Stir in the crab meat then gradually add in the breadcrumbs.

Heat the butter in a frying pan. Form the crab mixture into 4 cakes and cook for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

For the aioli, mix all ingredients together. Serve alongside the crab cakes.
