We love Toms!

It’s Great British Tomato Week and we are full to the brim of tomato recipes and ideas to make the most of this humble fruit at its summer best!

Starter - Roasted Tomato Salad

A sweet, fruity treat full of rich flavours. Serve with a generous glug of olive oil, a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and lots of fresh crusty bread to mop it all up. For an extra Mediterranean twist, tear fresh buffalo mozzarella and scatter with slices of prosciutto.

Main - Penne Arrabiata 

Light and fresh with chopped parsley, al dente pasta and a fiery kick of chilli. Serve with garlic bread, fresh milled pepper and plenty of fresh grated pecorino cheese.

Light snack – Tomato, Olive and Basil Bruschetta

Truly a match made in heaven! Perfect to enjoy on a sunny summer afternoon with a glass of wine.

Accompaniment - Cherry Tomato & Sweet Chilli Jam

Make ahead and store for those cosy nights in with good cheese, good wine and good friends. 

A true classic - Tomato Ketchup 

Is there any meal out there that can’t be enhanced by good old tomato ketchup? Well, yes there are but there are plenty where a big dollop of red sauce is just the thing you need! Chips, bacon butty, burgers, ok they are not that healthy, but boy they are good.

Desert - Tomato Sorbet 

Yes you read that right – the humble tom can even be transformed into a refreshing sweet sorbet! Add a few sprigs of mint for something really special.

Drinks – Bloody Mary 

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up and this one packs a punch! A few dashes of tabasco, lots of salt and pepper and a shot of something else… well we’ll just leave that one there.
