After having a nasty accident with a smaller, cheaper mandoline, my husband bought me this one. Why did I not buy this one in the first place? Sturdy, easy to use, large carrier and lots of blades. The biggest plus is that the master blade is removable, so much better and safer when cleaning the item. I was disappointed that there was no booklet on how to use the blades with particular foodstuffs, but that can be overcome by careful 'playing' with it.
